PC Software: Track Mapping

R.L.C. has taken track mapping to a whole other level with GPS. R.L.C.'s track maps are the most accurate and easy to use track maps on the market. By using GPS, you will get the most precise track maps you have ever seen. R.L.C. lets you see your lap lines within the track and each lap line is different from the last because each lap line you drove is different. Showing you your individual lap lines allows you to quickly identify your fastest line around the track and reduce you lap times fast. Using GPS allows you to accurately map a track to within inches!

Without Exact Track
Standard track maps are derived from the laps you drive and how much of the track you drive on. The Race Analyzer Software then takes that data and builds a track map based on your driving and your lap lines will fall within those boundaries. Drivers can easily find their fastest line thus helping to improve their lap times significantly.

Below is an example of a standard track map.

Exact Track Mapping
As an option for drivers that want more from their GPS track mapping, R.L.C. introduces Exact Track. Exact Track mapping ability is available on all our race dashed and takes our standard track mapping to the next level. With Exact Track you are able to review your lap lines exactly how they lie within the actual width of the track. You can see exactly where you dove into a corner, what your exit line was, and quickly identify your fastest lap line around the track. To generate an Exact Track map you drive the track twice, once with your tires on the left side of the track and once with your tires on the right side of the track. This method builds a track map that looks exactly like the track, widths of turns, straight away's, etc. After you are done creating the Exact Track map, you send the file to us and we will add all the track characteristics like rumble strips, grandstands, pit lanes, flag stations, etc. We use the information provided by the track and Google Earth to fill in the details.

Once an Exact Track map has been created, you have it forever. R.L.C. posts all Exact Track maps on the downloads page at our website. Our library of Exact Track maps will continue to grow so check back regularly for new maps.

Below is an example of an Exact Track map. It is the same track as above but created with the Exact Track method. You can immediately see that the standard track map is above is accurate but the Exact Track map is even better.

All of the data taken by the GPS is directly linked to the data taken from the car. When you analyze your data in the PC analysis software, that data will directly correspond to the cars exact position on the track. While analyzing the data you can show any number of laps, select different laps from different sessions, or compare your session to another driver's. You could select your fastest lap and compare it to other laps and figure out why that lap was the fastest. This way you can see how you got your fastest lap or why a lap was slow. You are also able to zoom in on sections of the track to better review your data. Imagine being able to isolate your pros and cons of each lap by seeing exactly how you drove each lap on the track. Finding the differences between your fastest lap and other laps could allow you to better your time and possibly win the race!
